My name is Monica Ramunda and I am pleased that you are visiting my website. I have been working in the mental health field for over nineteen years and bring to my practice, compassion, warmth, and clinical expertise. I am a mother of twin 23-year-old girls, a resident of Colorado for 30 years, and an avid outdoor/nature lover. My passion in life is the work I do as a therapist and being a mother. I look forward to meeting and working with you in the future.
History
Monica Ramunda has been working in the mental health community since 1993. Monica received her BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder specializing in psychology, and her Master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in Counseling Psychology, focusing on family and child/adolescent work. While at the University of Colorado at Denver, Monica received the prestigious CIS grant for exceptional work with youth at risk. Monica Ramunda is a Licensed Professional Counselor( LPC) in the State of Colorado, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor( LCMHC) in the State of North Carolina, as well as a Registered Play Therapist. Monica is also a certified Marriage and Family Therapist through the Family Therapy/Play Therapy Institute in Denver. She has also received her certification as a hypnotist, through the Association for Transpersonal Psychology and Hypnotherapy. Monica Ramunda has also trained at the Girls Leadership Institute and co-facilitated Mother-Daughter workshops throughout Boulder County. Monica is a Certified Brainspotting Practioner and offers Brainspotting to help with unresolved trauma, anxiety and depression, and other behavioral issues. She is also trained in CAMS care which provides support and reduction in suicidal ideation in clients.
Monica has also earned the Best of Louisville Award in Mental Health Service for three years in a row. She has received additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), as well as additional training in the use of hypnotherapy for trauma and PTSD. She has recently become a supervisor through the Association for Play therapy, earning her RPT-S. Monica is also the proud owner of Lighthouse Counseling Services, providing online services in North Carolina.
Monica is one of the first Certified Psychedelic-Assisted therapists in the U.S., having completed her training through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in June 2023. She integrates this cutting-edge modality to help clients address trauma, anxiety, and depression, empowering healing and growth in a safe and supported environment.

Monica’s clinical experience includes both outpatient and inpatient, residential, and day treatment care, as well as work in the schools, providing group, individual, and family therapy. She has worked at the following centers:

• Halcyon Residential Center, residential mental health counselor for adolescents
• Centennial Peaks Hospital, Odyssey school, Residential, inpatient, and school mental health counselor

• Monaco Elementary School, School counselor intern
Monica has been in private practice since 2001 and has provided individual, group, and family therapy. In addition, she has worked for the courts as a Special Advocate/Child and family investigator and parenting coordinator in Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Adams, and Jefferson County.
Monica Ramunda served as a faculty member at the Colorado School for Family Therapy in Denver Colorado. She was the instructor for Marriage and Family Studies/Child and Family Investigations: Divorce and Remarriage class. Ms. Ramunda has also worked at Centennial Peaks Hospital in both the Intensive Outpatient Mental Health program and the Adolescent Residential Unit.
